USING THE ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOGUE (OPAC)

The Online Public Access Catalogue is an electronic platform where users can get access to search the library collection, renew books and place books on hold. A user can only print and also check books available without a registered account. However, you can only fully enjoy the benefits OPAC provides when you have a registered account. Students have to log on with their username and their Class ID numbers as their passwords.

Some of the services that OPAC provides for its users include the following:

    1. Search for books available in the library.
    2. Allows users to see books that they have checked in and out of the library. Once books borrowed is due for renewal or submission, you receive an alert via email.
    3. Allows users to books for the library seminar rooms which is used for group meetings and discussions.
    4. Allows users to book for library training sessions.
    5. A user can also place a purchase suggestion on the OPAC if desires to read a particular book not available in the library.
    6. There is a live chat available to users 24/7.

The OPAC can be accessed anywhere and on one's mobile devices. Visit the Ashesi OPAC via this link: https://opac.ashesi.edu.gh. It is absolutely user-friendly.
